Did you know that 60% of your brain is composed of fatty acids? These building blocks of fat molecules are essential for proper brain structure and function, especially docosahexaenoic acid, also known as DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid most commonly found in oily fish. Since humans aren’t capable of producing DHA on our own, a diet rich in omega-3s is important for keeping our brains, and the rest of our bodies, healthy and strong.
One of the easiest ways to get these healthy fats is by eating a diet rich in salmon. In addition to omega-3s, it’s an excellent source of vitamins B12 and D, protein, and phosphorus, among an array of other nutrients. Ready to dive into salmon? (See what we did there?)
