If you’re like me, you like something bubbly in the afternoon to sip on. Instead of reaching for a soda, I love to have one of Earth Fare’s flavored sparkling waters. And since I’m always looking for an opportunity to help my body out with detoxing, I created this Everyday Detox Spritzer with my favorite sparkling water flavor—grapefruit!
This detox spritzer has ginger, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and raw honey. Here is why these ingredients are great in a detox drink:
Ginger – Ginger cleanses the body by improving digestion and circulation, and can help to remove the build-up of waste and toxins in the colon, liver, and other organs
Lemon Juice – Fresh juice from lemons contains Vitamin C, and helps balance blood sugar. Lemon also has an alkaline effect on the body, helping to regulate PH.
Apple Cider Vinegar – Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar contains friendly bacteria that improve digestion, immunity, and the body’s natural ability to detoxify.
Raw Honey – Raw honey contains antioxidants, and also has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. It’s a sweetener sourced straight from nature!
All of these ingredients together are not only powerful for aiding in health and detox, they make a refreshing spritzer that you can drink every day!
Makes 2 Spritzers
Ingredients
2 cans Earth Fare Grapefruit Flavored Sparkling Water
2.5 inches fresh ginger
Juice from 1-2 lemons
1 tablespoon Earth Fare Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
3 tablespoons Earth Fare Organic Raw Honey
½ cup boiling water
Directions
Peel the ginger and slice it very thinly (you can use a vegetable peeler or a knife)
Add ginger to a mug and pour ½ cup of boiling water over. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes.
Once the ginger has steeped and the water has cooled slightly, remove the ginger pieces from the water and stir in the honey, juice from 1-2 lemons, and the apple cider vinegar.
Add ice to two glasses (if desired) and pour half of the mix into each glass. Top with the grapefruit sparkling water and mix to combine. Garnish with a lemon wedge and enjoy!
