THE BOOT LIST ITEM #103

Saccharin is an artificial sweetener approximately 500 times sweeter than sucrose. Saccharin is used to sweeten a variety of foods including candy, drinks, baked goods, sauces, dressings and low calorie or “diet” foods. Saccharin does not posses any nutritional value, despite it’s popularity amongst those who may seek a zero calorie sweetener. Some studies have linked saccharin to health risks such as bladder health, gut health, diabetes, and obesity. Choose healthier options like natural and organic sugars when possible.
