Glucose-Fructose Syrup (GFS) is a liquid sweetener made of two simple sugars, glucose and fructose. Together they create a very sweet syrup that is often used to improve texture, consistency, flavor, and ability to blend well. For this reason its often used in sweetened drinks and liquid or crystallized foods. Research has shown there is no nutritional value, and could lead to insulin resistance, weight gain, and metabolic issues.
