THE BOOT LIST ITEM #31

Caprenin is a fat substitute designed to lower the caloric content of food. Originally intended as a cocoa butter replacer, manufacturers found its purpose beneficial for texture enhancement, and extending the shelf life of certain products. It is primarily used for soft candies and confections. While it is digested and processed like other dietary fats, it does not completely or properly absorb in the body and could pose a threat to fat metabolism and cholesterol levels.
