Butylene Glycol, also known as 1,3-Butanediol or BG, is a versatile colorless, organic alcohol and chemical compound found in many cosmetic products. It is often used a preservative, an emollient, and a solvent. Some people with sensative skin are prone to allergies with products containing butylene glycol. Always be sure to check the labels of cosmetics, and avoid this ingredient when possible.
