Pour Some Sugar on Me – great song or poor diet plan? You decide.
Let’s be honest, sugar is delicious, but it’s not exactly conducive to losing weight. It’s also like kryptonite to most diabetics. The key thing to remember when limiting your sugar intake is to understand the difference between the two types of sugars: naturally occurring and added sugars.
Naturally occurring sugars are… well, natural. It’s what you taste when you bite into an apple or chug that glass of whole milk. But, sugars can also be added to products. Natural sugar additives include the following, among many others:
-Honey
-Maple syrup
-Molasses
-Agave syrup
These are naturally occurring so they aren’t totally bad for you in reasonable doses.
Then there’s high fructose corn syrup. It’s not naturally occurring. It’s also not great for you – that’s why it’s not sold in any products in Earth Fare Stores.
